Boarding school kitchen

The kitchen of the Max-Rill-Gymnasium provides all our pupils and the entire staff of the castle with meals every day. Our head chef constantly attempts to manage the balancing act of taking into account some of the preferences of the pupils and the importance of maintaining a balanced diet. Sampling and regular conferences with the meals spokespersons help to develop the menus and keep them in line with the ideas of our girls and boys.

The suppliers of the castle kitchen are, in the main, from the area and provide very good quality at source. Self-made jams are just as much a part of the menu as home-baked bread and a daily selection of fresh vegetables, fruit and salads.

Three of our four boarding school houses also have a kitchen of their own in the building itself. Here a menu is cooked several times a year with each group acting on its own responsibility.
